Find Value in Others

In Daily Inspiration, Thoughts on July 15, 2011 at 1:43 pm

I must admit it is a hobby of mine to talk to strangers. I believe we have so much to learn from the people who are around us on a daily basis. Every person have the capacity of greatness within them. For some reason we choose to neglect them if they don’t have a title or some sort of status.  I have experienced this in every job that I have had thus far. I am reminded of a time when I coached college basketball. On a bus trip the bus driver asked the Head coach a question about a destination. The head coach turned to another coach and asked, “Why is he talking to me”?   It’s amazing to me when people get a false sense of security based on a title they were given.  The irony in the story is the bus driver was far more educated than the Head Coach, and had a larger grasp of the world. You never know when you have the opportunity to learn something valuable, or even help someone out.  I love people!

Ultimately we all want the same thing, to be happy, to feel loved,  to give love, and experience success. In order to do great things, you will need people around you to help you accomplish them.  None of us came into the world fully formed. Where did you learn how to think? How did you learn how to walk, talk or speak? How did you learn etiquette? It is a fact that our very existence as human beings depend on other human beings. We need other human beings in order to be human. People are far more than their appearance, degree’s on a wall, or even a title on a desk. People are Jun E! All people have the capacity to be great, its just a matter of taping into it. Knowing yourself is the first step in this process, then loving yourself.   I am because other people are!
