What Box?…

In Daily Inspiration, Jun E Caniel Conversation Series, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts on April 1, 2014 at 12:35 am

So today I had a thought…  They gave me a box to live in, and I am thankful for all people who shitted in my box… lol. You forced me to create a Jun E World… From my sister who told me I Jay Caniel would never graduate high school, to her husband who always called me a day dreamer… Then, there are the “adults”  who play the success game… You know the ones who act like they have a lot going on but really hiding behind things like jobs, marital status, houses, cars, titles, and oh yea they serve on boards lol… To the pastor who turned his back cause I didn’t want  to scam people and have them pay for salvation… I thank you all! To the “affluent” woman who referred to me as a crow, I thank you too…

To the dreamers: Take all the bricks they throw at you and build your world. Build it so big that they can’t deny you! Build! Because your intentions will uplift many. Build because you have purpose and legacy. Build so much that you have a stench about you! Then go back and extend your hand to the ones who shitted in “your” box. Then you will see that it was never really your box, ’cause you cannot be contained!  That box was theirs all along. Today is a great day… Jun E!

What Happens?…

In Jun E Caniel Conversation Series, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts on March 26, 2014 at 9:32 pm

So they give us these images… They give us history, religion, a dream, education, a good lifeaamericandream2 etc… The dream comes to us in tiny boxes and we only get to choose from the right.. ‘Cause left would be so wrong… Oh! Be careful cause if you choose wrong it gives the neighbors something to talk about… Or maybe we will go to hell, or maybe their god will be angry… Hmmmm… So what happens when we don’t fit the images? What happens when I’m so creative that I Jay Caniel create my own dream, live my education and make his-story (history) into MY story? What happens when I’m not robotic enough for you to brain wash me with your ambiguous cult-like religion? What happens when you realize I’m not a sell out like the ones before me… What happens when my mane cannot be tamed? So self made you cannot even understand how I was made… Explain?

Playing to Win

In Daily Inspiration on February 27, 2014 at 2:20 am

I must be out my mind they said…  As John Hope’s voice stimulates the most creative part of this brain.. Yea give me a second to unwind as I vibe toJun E opoly these drums.. Hope… Hope… My mother told me to hope for the best.. So since I’m hard headed I created it instead. When best wasn’t good enough, I threw it up and opted for Greatest… Speaking things into existence and having fun molding my world like clay.. Living, looking back and making the dots connect in that order. BINGO! And I WIN.. Rolling the dice and passing  GO everyday collecting it all. Oh my board doesn’t have a go to jail square.. lol.. I thought you knew I created this game to WIN…

Jun E Recess…

In Business, Culture, Daily Inspiration, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts, Uncategorized on January 21, 2014 at 8:59 pm

Jun E Dreams She asked ” Where do you think we go wrong?” I smile as the colors in my mind begin to blend into a perfect harmony… She says ” you somehow remain 6 years old through it all”. Yes! Correct! Allow me to air out my present mind… You see at six everything is new and fresh… We don’t quite understand boundaries, or taking people for granted. We live into every moment like it was our last… Shit we have plenty of serious miserable adults around to tell us when recess is up… So we never concern ourselves with tomorrow or the next 15 minutes.. It’s always now! We put nothing off to chance for the next day, or the next month. I want the ice cream cone now! But your telling me I must wait cause in life we can’t always get what we want.. Bull shit speak for yourself. We create bubble bath out of ivory soap. With no toys we somehow find away to make everything around bend for our enjoyment. We play aimlessly in the back of our beautiful minds and create worlds within worlds… You asked..

Where do we go wrong? We listen..  We listen to people who spend everyday building their ownJun E Playing coffins… People who tell us we can do what ever we want but some how their statement didn’t apply to them… hmmm… We listen.. We listen to people who tell us that life has to be a struggle… People who hate their lives… People who hate people… People who have certification.. People who have degree’s… People who drive nice cars… People who live in nice neighborhoods…  Masking themselves in things because they think things certify them… Following scripts like movie stars without cameras… People with titles…  People who just use language and have no idea what the fuck they talking about. But we listen…. The un originals tell us how to dress, speak, talk etc… We follow followers… We lead in the beginning!

They told me recces was only 15 minutes… But somehow I managed to stretch it out for a lifetime… Every morning the recess bell rings, accompanied by this humongous smile… Followed by unlimited thoughts of gratitude… My eyes looks out to the sky like I live in a convertible, admiring the creation and brewing my next creation. The world is at my feet and the universe is my playground… It’s just my present state.  We go wrong when we stop having recess. Come play with us…

Coming Undone…

In Art, Daily Inspiration, Jun E Caniel Conversation Series, JUN E LOVE, Thoughts on January 18, 2014 at 5:51 pm

“She’s Come Undone/She Was Open” is a piece that probably took me 5 hours total over a 3-4 year period.  I started out painting a canvas that was covered in masking tape in some areas.  The tape was peeled off and I began adding pieces as ideas for what this piece would be crowded my head.  A few strips of sandpaper here, the zipper of from a skirt there…The possibilities are always endless when starting a piece.  Rarely do I know ahead of time what the end product will be, and this is part of the fun and frustration sometimes. Lol…there’s usually at least a concept in mind, so I take that and gather some materials that I think would be fun to experiment with and then have at it.  It is very liberating to let your creative spirit guide you as you play and try different techniques.  The same can be said about life.

20140116_112702 The story behind “She’s Come Undone/She Was Open” :

This piece is about a woman who is usually guarded and cold falling in love with someone for the first time.  It is unexpected and surprisingly blissful.  At times, she is unsure of how to embrace this experience. Her lover has opened her heart in a way that she never dreamed was possible.

It isn’t just about falling in love, though.  It is also about finding our passion in life…finding our way and allowing ourselves to be in love with ourselves AND life.  I pray that we all will find the experiences, places, and people who make us come undone and leave us breathless.  For me, one of those things is creating.  I am learning to let my guard down and just embrace the flow of love while I am in my bliss.  It’s all love…

Peace,

T. Caniel

Our One Shot At Greatness

In Daily Inspiration, Jun E Caniel Conversation Series, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts on December 21, 2013 at 4:01 pm

Lately, I have found myself in a mentor/confidante position and it’s been a life changing experience.  Two people I know have lost loved ones in the past couple weeks, and I have had the privilege of mentoring others who aspire to tap into their own greatness.  Of course, talking with these individuals as they grieve and try to find their paths immediately brings up the inevitability of death for me.  Our time on this earth is so short.  A lifetime is but a second…

Are we truly taking advantage of our opportunity to be great in this lifetime? At this most poignant time in my life, I have decided to take full advantage of my shot at greatness!  I say this with astonishing conviction.  My goal is to fill this life with love, peace, and happiness.  It sounds so corny but it’s what I want for me.  If I fill up my life to brim with those things, I will successfully build the legacy I envision.  Happy

There have been too many brushes with death, too many wake up calls and far too many confirmations to sit around and settle for a mediocre existence.  I’m working on LIVING, not merely existing.  It’s my responsibility to my generation and those after me to pave a new path to greatness and live as an example.

This is a great feeling!  To be at the cusp of manifestation is unbelievable! I’m standing on the edge of the cliff looking down in nervous anticipation knowing the Creator will build a bridge right under my feet as I make strides across the canyon to my vision fulfilled.  “Oh! What a feeling!” (in my Prince Hakeem in “Coming to America” voice).  Something is stirring inside and outside of me.  It’s swirling around me as my strides get longer and faster paced…I am sprinting and running wildly to my greatness!  What about you?  Stay Jun E, my people.

Peace.

Look back and smile…

The next time someone Mediocre gives you advice… Smile! In life people are either thermostats Jay Caniel or thermometers. One merely checks the temperature… While the select few of us regulate the temperature. You see when you’re living in your purpose and creating it’s all new. Don’t expect the rats to see the unseen…  After all, they can’t even see their own cheese… hmmm…  What makes you think they will see your grand, unrevealed greatness?… It’s like asking someone who can’t swim for advice about jumping into the ocean… Just do it! You will experience what it means to be living! You will end up looking back at the cliff where they all stand looking over the edge, watching you… Just smile and say, “Jun E!”

Waking up…

The first time you open your eyes… Immediately squint to block out the light, crinkling your faceJun E Caniel Awake like a 90 year old… The beautiful lines of your face listen and give in to the command. Now blocking or minimizing what we see, we slowly adjust giving way for more light…Now allowing our eyes to open even more… But are we seeing? Or just watching? Do we have vision or is this pre-recorded?… Hmmm… Just a few questions from a mischievous kid…
