Who Knew….

In Daily Inspiration, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts on September 12, 2013 at 9:49 pm

We always wanted more… A life worth fighting for!  A life worth living and dying for!  A legacy that could never be taken from us. We started out pretty naive about this whole thing. Dreamy eyed, with milk all over our breath… Jay Caniel She said she wanted to be an artist and improve women’s lives all around the world. He simply wanted to improve humanity…

Who knew those dreams would carry us?  Who knew that the air we breathe is fueled by images projected on the walls of our minds? Who knew that kid with invisible headphones on would get a pair? Lol, I’m trotting right along with no ears to the world, a big smile on my face, and a blockbuster hit on my mind… We will continue to direct this movie behind the scenes…I can’t wait till it’s complete. Get your popcorn ready…

Wonderful

In Daily Inspiration, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts, Uncategorized on September 10, 2013 at 4:54 pm

Just like it used to be.. Wonderful! That giddy feeling inside that makes you just want to smile.. That Jun E Wonderful feeling of excitement in your stomach before a big game.. That bell rings and we run aimlessly to recces… Come on you hear that bell.. Wonderful.. Eating the vegetables to get to dessert… Boy, and you thought those were rough days… Getting your homework done so you can play outside… Wonderful… A smile from a stranger that makes you break out and imitate creation… Wonderful…  Screaming your favorite songs at the top of your lungs and it actually sounds good… Wonderful…  Lol getting the note back and “yes” is checked… Wonderful… Take you back to the days of real creation… When you laid in bed and dreamed… Oh what a feeling… I call it wonderful!  Close your eyes and count to 10 and the whole world changes… The days of the 5 second rule… Food falls and you can eat it within 5 seconds.. Lol some of you had 20 secs… I’m not judging… Just wonderful..

I’m guilty ’cause I know some of you have grown out of those days, but I still live it… I can feel the love move throughout my body as the guitar strings pull and my finger hit these keys. Wonderful… There’s nothing like living in the present moment and creating the things that you want. I challenge you to live that wonderful life. I just want to spread this feeling… The feeling of living, laughing, loving and creating your legacy…. See you at the top! Wonderful!

Work In Progress: Sankofa Painting

In Art, Culture, Design, Uncategorized on September 4, 2013 at 7:07 pm

tumblr_lkothsuolx1qb9ql8o1_500I started a painting a couple months ago and I wasn’t sure what to add.  Last night, as I was flipping through a stack of inspiring quotes, symbols, etc., I found my list of Adinkra symbols.  Both Sankofa symbols jumped out at me.  Perhaps it is a testament to my current state of mind.  Sankofa Bird

Our trip to Mexico in August rekindled a desire to learn more about my past and the lives of my ancestors.  The Sankofa symbols mean “return and get it”, learn from the past.  What can I learn from not just my ancestors’ lives, but also from my own past?

This painting is my first bout of experimental play with the bird version of the Sankofa symbol.  My mind has already been formulating different versions of both symbols and it’s exciting to think about!  photo 2(7)

My heart skips a beat as I think about the possibilities in this painting, as it will most likely evolve into a mixed media piece.  :-)   It feels good to be creating again.  And it feels good to get serious about creating and selling my works.  This is a new journey, a path that veers off slightly from the main road of Jun E Caniel the clothing line yet runs parallel and inevitably leads to the same destination.

Indeed, this is the time to make great things happen.

What you think?….

In Daily Inspiration, Jun E Caniel Conversation Series, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts on September 4, 2013 at 4:28 pm

Oh the power of words! In life we all have desires. I have discovered in  life, that we get what we are looking for. The key is to train our thoughts to focus on the things we desire and get it off of the things we don’t desire.  Our thoughts are the starting point to our destiny. We must make sure weThinking Jun E... guard our thoughts with our very lives. Some people spend most of their time guarding people and things such as cars, houses, credit scores, jobs, titles etc. The most significant thing a person will produce is a direct result of their thoughts. We must guard our beautiful minds against the propaganda of the news, the vulgarity in music, films and other streams of the media. Its a trap, and once you start in the rat race its hard to get out. We become brain washed and dependent on garbage.  Greatness begins and ends in the mind.  The next time you ask for something, remember that you will get exactly what you want. A Jun E poet has correctly stated this universal truth through these lines

I bargained with Life for a penny

And Life would pay no more,

However I begged at evening

When I counted my scanty store.

For Life is a just employer,

He gives you what you ask,

But once you have set the wages,

Why, you must bear the task

I worked for a menial’s hire,

Only to learn, dismayed,

That any wage I had asked of Life,

Life would have willingly paid….

When a Jun E Kid Grows Up…

In Daily Inspiration, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts, Uncategorized on August 27, 2013 at 6:23 pm

Just a weird kid wanting a different life.. Wanted to laugh, play and dance in the rain… I enjoyed playing with imaginary friends and creating bubble bath from soap… I sat at that table and was a bus driver… The best damn bus driver on the island. I sat in that living room and became a college and Jun E Caniel Olympic basketball player. But they told me I day dream too much. I never could quite understand their language, so they said that I don’t listen…  After achieving certain feats, my success was turned against me… So now I go from being labeled as the little boy who day dreams to the anti social adult. However still these eyes won’t go past six… You know the age where everything is new and not taken for granted.  You know the age where you get excited about a piece of candy, or just going outside and having a conversation with a friend…

Jun E Lion I realize now it will always be something… I realize there will always be more ants than eagles,  more crabs than lions.  There will be more workers than owners… More managers than leaders. I realize now how you’re treated when you’re a revolutionary… They hate you. They band together against you ’cause they can’t stomach the thought that the same  “unstable” boy who day dreamed  and made friends with notepads will someday… Will someday… will someday …
ajac “The Difference between the bottom and the top is your perception of where you are… Sooner or later you find yourself in the place you dreamed up…”

These Days…

In Business, Culture, Daily Inspiration, Motivational Speaking, Random Conversation, T-Shirts, Thoughts on August 23, 2013 at 7:29 pm

Life is an interesting rascal… I must admit I don’t know about much going on outside of leaving our Jun E Legacy.. I remember when I had alot of associates and family around, I got nothing done. I had plenty of people to talk to.. Plenty of gossip to hear…  Be very cognizant of who you hang out with. ChooseJun E Times your friends wisely. They’re influence on you is unavoidable. These days I interact with maybe two people on a daily basis, outside of our awesome Jun E Customers…  Although it seems lonely we have managed to quietly expand business in several countries.. We have managed to grow businesses in several different sectors.. We have managed to give a helping hand in combating poverty in the US and abroad, thus getting closer to our life long goals of improving humanity and ending poverty.  We have managed to find our greatness within, and spread it throughout the world.  We have managed to be self sufficient  and creating the life we want.  These days we know ourselves… We produce our own thoughts.. Hmmm.. These days we find ourselves talking to legends of the past and reading books to Jun E selflovesupplement real people…  These days we wake up with so much purpose and work with a vigor unknown to me in the past.. These days I paint the walls of the future in my brain… Then see them manifest right before our eyes.. These days life moves fast but appears to be in slow motion….. I wish I can explain this peace, excitement, confidence and joy within.. I wish I can give this feeling to every boy and girl with a dream who are told to be realistic…. But wait… We will! See you at the top!

Jun E Bubble

In Daily Inspiration, Jun E Caniel Conversation Series, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts on July 26, 2013 at 5:00 pm

They say success leaves clues… Well I guess our legacy will be like a Scooby Doo house filled with every little detailed etched out in beautifully manicured hand writing and scribbles in our journals…I’m vibing right now to the key strokes of a piano, and thinking about the drastic turn our lives just took… The journey.. All I can do is smile at how far we have come to this day.

The cause is still very much alive and living everyday. The cause to improve humanity is strong jaycaniel222enough to reverse a generational curse. It’s strong enough to survive without the support of any family member. This cause is strong enough to with stand the eyes of this young boy until he became a man. It’s strong enough to wake us out of our sleep. This cause is strong enough to keep us dreaming in color in a world that sees only black and white.

Jay Caniel Painting It’s a surreal feeling to live beyond yourself… I can’t imagine going to work to pay a mortgage, car payment, or even to own a house in a fancy neighborhood. Nothing parallels going to work to save a life, give hope, or breath to someone in need of it. At the end of the day, I’m just a weird little kid trapped in a Jun E bubble.

Styled By Jun E: Living in Color

Every day isn’t a sunny day in summer, but who says your outfit should reflect that? Today in my 20130712-161009.jpgmind the only word I saw was “COLORS”! Here in NC we’ve been having many rainy days. The sun would grace us every once in a while, but it’s never for a complete day. Fortunately, your outfit can bring the sunshine no matter the weather!

Today’s ensemble features a t-shirt from a brand we’re now carrying at Jun E Caniel’s Boutique. If you’re familiar with our blog site then you’ve seen us talk about HRB Movement before. If not, check-out our blog “Styled By Jun E: Brand New”, where we talk their brand and their movement in this world.
20130712-160944.jpgThe “Be With You” tee is super comfy and the tribal design on the left side of the tee is pretty cool with accents of  kelly green and turquoise mixed together.
Our newest accessory to the Jun E boutique are these colorful, hand-made bracelets by Threads of Hope. This company has such a positive mission for their company. The bracelets are crafted by men, women and children living in poverty-stricken areas in the Philippines. Check out their website and read about their cause at www.threadsofhope.com.ph.

The key with mixing colors is having at least one neutral color in the blend. So white jeans and the dark grey in the tee level the outfit out a lot. Now don’t get me wrong; you can have tons of colors in one outfit but remember that you don’t want your outfit to be too busy. That’s pretty much what fashion is. Coordinating.

Get ready for next week’s outfit of the week styled by Jun E Caniel.

Much Love,

Jun E Smile!

In Culture, Daily Inspiration, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts on July 2, 2013 at 5:42 pm

Jun E Smile I’m smiling… I’m sure we all have lots to smile about. They say that a smile is contagious, so I hope you are grinning from ear to ear at this moment.

Today I travel back into time and find all of the great reasons to smile. I find that even when you’re not happy, if you smile long enough you have no choice but to evoke joy. Hmmm.. That might be a great life principle!  I smile glancing back at those who wanted to see our destruction and I wonder why they wanted that? But still I smile…I smile even though through this journey I have lost “family and friends”. Well, let’s just say they dismissed themselves from the journey.  I guess the ride to self discovery, living to improve humanity, and living with a purpose is a turn off to robots.

I guess when you are beaten and penalized for being independent, or truly self reliant,Jun E Cat Smile then you develop a dysfunctional relationship with self reliance, and a fear of true independence.. Hence the reason people do things they don’t like, or go through life faking happiness… Still with a smile on my face I forgive you all for your destructive thoughts. You see, your thoughts are only destructive to your kind!

I smile because this smile is stronger than your frown… This smile will be replicated over and over until it wipes out evil… This smile will start a revolution of happiness, Jun E Smile progress, and prosperity! This smile allows us to move pass your ignorance… Who knows how far this smile will go? This smile may help end hunger, and poverty for all… Who knows? But I do know there’s been a collection of your smiles that has kept us going.. So when you’re feeling down… Don’t forget to give someone a smile… You never know how bad they might need it. Today, we smile because it makes sense…
