A dreamer…

To leave the world better than its been…

The belief to persist and never give in…

The vision to see past what’s never been lived…

To stand firm on everything within…

A dreamer… ~Jay Caniel

The Dream…

In Culture, Daily Inspiration, Motivational Speaking on April 11, 2015 at 7:11 pm

So I had this dream…
Where I could be the kid in me.
Travel the world and wake up on a random beach…
Like free…Jay Caniel
Playing in my thoughts is so me…
Surrounded by foreigners
But when I smile we agree…
That crinkle in the eyes means happy…

Living My Song…

In Daily Inspiration, Fashion, T-Shirts, Thoughts on June 15, 2014 at 6:44 pm

Skipping through life like a midwest wind
Just the way the pendulum swings…
Smiling ’cause my heart beats within
Just thankful for the oxygen the trees bring….
Living my song that’s within…
They say I got one life to live…
Now nothing will stop this kid…

Thankful

In Thoughts on May 1, 2014 at 2:44 pm

Jun E Caniel Thankful for the island sunrise and my beautiful mind… Thankful for that cab ride my mom took 30 something years ago today, giving birth to her last… They say save the best for last… Thankful for missed shots, being kidnapped, turning negative words into my bitch on the spot…
Gaining inspiration from the eyes of the under dogs… Putting them on my back ’cause there is no other way… This little light of mine… I told Lesroy and the most high I would let it shine…sitting on the dock watching the tide role in. As I shed a tear… Man I’m just thankful to be here… One day… One day hoping I live… Knowing I’ll live long enough to see greatness rise and replicate over and over and over again….today is a Jun E day…Lets change the world!!!!!

Jamming…

In Daily Inspiration, Motivational Speaking, Random Conversation, Thoughts on April 13, 2014 at 3:45 pm
It’s a new day… Slowly skipping through my imagination dancing to Bob… I guess he talking about Jamming… I want… I want jam with you.. No rules to jaminghow, you can do it any how. I like to go back to the days that playing outside was a hot commodity.. We were satisfied with running around the neighborhood like we were crazy and boy was that glass of water priceless. The days of no rent, no mortgage, no idea of classes, no color, crying to get what you want, and begging parents until they gave in… Our lives revolved around that feeling… We got high off of feelings y’all.. No one worried about buying designer clothing or the latest ride to impress no one.. You know… Take it back to the days we didn’t have to wear deodorant and hated taking baths… Haircuts once a month lol, climbing trees and falling asleep dreaming. The days when Freddie Kruger was actually scary lol..

So I went back. I live those days just in a different sense. Waking up dancing and constantly spewing gratitude to the universe like I know him or her. I put my middle finger up to a steady job, fake friends, and people who want to play small.. I’m just jamming… Creating life like a creator but they say that’s blasphemy lol.. Taking my smiles on the road like there is a suitcase big enough to carry them.. Spreading energy all over the land like a salt truck… I’m just jamming.. Offending miserable people cause I’m just jamming… They told me the music is too loud but it’s getting turned up.. We jamming… The stench of success like your neighborhood skunk lol… You can’t stop this dance, ’cause the music plays naturally from within.. All real no substitute ’cause we pre- Monsanto.. OK I had enough.. I’m jamming.. (excerpt “Jun E Musing”)

They Asked…

In Daily Inspiration, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts on April 8, 2014 at 3:15 pm

They asked me what inspires me… Splashes of light.. Maybe it was that one Mexican night.. Maybe it was being within a inch of my life thrice. Maybe it was Jay Caniel the one pair of pants… hmmm.. Lets see what picture I can paint.. Picture flying toasters going across the room, only to land in my mother’s face… A boy sitting in the back of a police car afraid to look up.. Hurricanes and neighbors telling you your moms died.. Skipping up alleys and singing cause i don’t think they will shoot a young boy. Or maybe it’s his deep breath running through the alley as the police chased Lesroy… hmmm.. Walking to the store and watching dead men get dragged up the street… Take your pic/pick… Fueled by all who are not suppose to be here… Fueled by being a brown wealthy boy who don’t entertain like the rest… Fueled by those who judge and name call cause they don’t like my fragrance of success. Maybe they don’t understand… You have no idea what it took for me to get this cologne… I’m happy I don’t have to say in each line how much I believe in God…. I just create like God… Live as free as a God… No need to use buzzwords intertwined with empty thoughts… I give like a God. Talk like a God and if that mother fucker ever walked…. This is just a glimpse… Paradise

What Box?…

In Daily Inspiration, Jun E Caniel Conversation Series, Motivational Speaking, Thoughts on April 1, 2014 at 12:35 am

So today I had a thought…  They gave me a box to live in, and I am thankful for all people who shitted in my box… lol. You forced me to create a Jun E World… From my sister who told me I Jay Caniel would never graduate high school, to her husband who always called me a day dreamer… Then, there are the “adults”  who play the success game… You know the ones who act like they have a lot going on but really hiding behind things like jobs, marital status, houses, cars, titles, and oh yea they serve on boards lol… To the pastor who turned his back cause I didn’t want  to scam people and have them pay for salvation… I thank you all! To the “affluent” woman who referred to me as a crow, I thank you too…

To the dreamers: Take all the bricks they throw at you and build your world. Build it so big that they can’t deny you! Build! Because your intentions will uplift many. Build because you have purpose and legacy. Build so much that you have a stench about you! Then go back and extend your hand to the ones who shitted in “your” box. Then you will see that it was never really your box, ’cause you cannot be contained!  That box was theirs all along. Today is a great day… Jun E!

Blink

In Jun E Caniel Conversation Series, Motivational Speaking, Random Conversation, Thoughts, Uncategorized on June 6, 2013 at 6:35 pm

Jun E Life Begins It’s amazing the things that flash before your eyes during a quick conversation with Death… It’s amazing who shows up to defend your position..  As he talked my brain evoked random thoughts  of Ricky, Imagine, Jun E Caniel, Legend, Nazir and the People….   Out of nowhere came Purpose, and Legacy… I must admit this was my first time seeing Death cower… He backed down and transformed into life..   I didn’t think purpose would have that effect on him.  All of a sudden phrases like  “abundance is on the other side poverty”, or “every disappointment is for a good”, or even the notion that you “fail before you succeed” became real to me. “Calm, cool, and collected” used to be a phrase, but to see this cool demeanor in effect when faced with fatality is an amazing feat…

For the first time in my life I’m living!!!  I feel every pulse, every heart beat, every thought, etc…  All we work for can be taken within a blink of an eye… Well depends on what your working for. It’s so interesting how closely related life and death are… For those of you who live in the middle… *Shrug*… Don’t expect much!

I challenge all to unleash your Lion within.. We all have greatness inside. Find your music! Play it! Play it loud without apology.. Time is your most valuable asset in life. Live it well and do something amazing. That is what we are all designed to do. For now my heart continues to beat, my mind although bruised from the windshield has gotten stronger… These hands are prepared to serve while my legs decide it will be the primary vehicle of this revolution…  We love you all! Keep Living! Jun E!

Ways That You Can Be Jun E!

In Art, Business, Culture, Daily Inspiration, Love, Motivational Speaking, T-Shirts, Thoughts on June 3, 2012 at 5:05 pm

  • Live Your Own Life
There is nothing remarkable about someone who is constantly trying to be like other people. Be yourself and be the best you that you can possibly be.
  • Be Authentic
Mean the things you say and do. Authenticity is not very common these days but when it is there, it shines through your words and actions and is very powerful for creating bonds with others.
  • Come Up With Your Own Sayings
Come up with your own quirky and original sayings. People will take notice and it may even catch on. I. E Jun E!
  •  Leave Others Better Than You Found Them
Make it a habit to leave people in a better state then you found them. Happier, healthier, stronger, wealthier. This is a major way of being remarkable.
  • Help People Without Wanting Anything In Return
Volunteer to help other people out. Give some of your time, money or resources to help a fellow human being and expect absolutely nothing in return.
  • Don’t Try To Be Perfect
Be creative and abstract instead of trying to live up to other people’s expectation of perfect. You can achieve great and beautiful things without them living up to the general consensus of perfect.
  • Face Your Fears
People who avoid things because they are scared will never be remarkable. Face your fears and conquer them. Do you think Lance Armstrong would have been remarkable if he had given up cycling after he had cancer?
  • Take The Plunge
Be that person who does what others won’t do. If others are too scared to attempt something that you are not scared to do, just go out and do it with all your passion and energy.
  • Question The Norm
Just because something is done by millions of people around the world in a certain way does not mean it is the right or the only way to do something. Question the norm and don’t be afraid to do something differently.
  • Expose Yourself
Get up on stage or in front of people. Risk putting your ideas and creativity out in public, available for criticism and humiliation. What if Jay Z would have been to scared to perform in public and kept all his talent and art to himself in his basement?
  • Start Your Own Tribe
Be a leader instead of a follower. Build up a community or tribe of like minded people who will follow you and use your power to make a difference for the better in this world.
  • Say NO To Things
If something goes against your principles or you don’t really want it, say NO. You might risk offending some people, but most will respect you for having strong boundaries and sticking to them.
  • You Are Enough
Have the mindset that you have all the assets to be remarkable. You have talent and you have a gift. Share it with the world.
  • Be Optimistic
Optimism and smiles are contagious. Make the world a happy and positive place.
  • Be confident
Know what you want and be confident that you are going to get it. I think that all remarkable people share the trait of confidence.
  • Be Humble
Arrogance and vanity are not traits to associate with people you respect and think highly of. No matter how good, famous or wealthy you are, stay humble with both feet on the ground.
  • Create something that brings joy to other peoples lives
Art, a painting, a video clip, a film, a song, a poem, a book and so on and so forth. Be artistic and express your talent in a form that it can be shared with everyone without the expectation of getting rich from it. It’s your gift to the world.
  • Invent something that everyone needs
The disposable razor or a cigarette lighter for example. There could be one little thing that seems so simple yet will make the lives of millions of people so much easier.
  • Take something that works and make it better
The Japanese are pretty good at this. They took a normal train and change it into the fastest train in the world (bullet train). Take a normal and existing concept and make an exceptional change to it.
  • Start a movement
People look for a leader, someone who takes charge and takes initiative. Someone who has good intentions and wants to make a big change for the better. Be that leader and start a movement to change something that is not right in this world.
  • Fight for peace and freedom
All around the world there is so much unnecessary war and suffering. It seems impossible for one person to make a difference, but if everyone thinks like that, things will never change. Stop a war or change violent policies of a country and you will be remarkable.
  • Preserve our planet
Rainforests are being destroyed, species wiped out, oceans overfished and beautiful ecosystems perish. Make a difference and start a movement to do something about the destruction of our planet.
  • Help the hungry
There are so many people dying of hunger all around the world every single day. Do something to make a lasting difference. One idea I had was to get every person travelling on a plane to forfeit their meal for the hungry. A combined effort by all passengers would result in thousands of meals a day that could be given to hungry people all across the world.
  • Push the limits (break a record)
If you can do something that nobody else has been able to achieve, then you will not only get noticed but you will certainly be remarkable. You may just be the psychological inspiration for many others to get past the level that was always thought of as unbreakable.
  • Revolutionize an industry
Waltz into an industry or niche with a great idea or new perspective and put that idea in motion. If you can improve or revolutionize the way an entire industry does something then you are pretty remarkable.
  • Tell Compelling Stories
Stories are an amazing way to share knowledge and experiences with others. If you know how to create compelling and fun stories, you can make a big impact on the lives of others. That’s remarkable.
  • Think Better
Be a step ahead of everyone else. Think faster, better or more efficiently.
  • Read More Interesting Things
The more you read, the more you shape your personality. The more interesting things that you read, the more likely you are to become an interesting (and remarkable) person.
  • Don’t Be Boring
One requirement of being remarkable is that you are not boring. Be original, fun and get things done.
  • Stop Making Excuses
Either do something or don’t do it at all. Don’t be someone who always has excuses to stall doing something or justify why you didn’t do something.
  • Never Settle For Average
Never be content with average or mediocrity. When other people give up and settle, carry on going and be better than them.
  • Do What You Say
If people can rely on you and they know that when you say something that you will do it, you are well on your way to being remarkable. If you make a promise, keep it.
  • Don’t Aim To Be Remarkable
As contradictory as it sounds, most remarkable people never set out to be remarkable. They did what they loved and were really passionate and that is what got them to being remarkable.
  • Gimmicks Fade
What’s fashionable soon becomes unfashionable. While you might be remarkable for a time, if you don’t reinvest and reinvent, you won’t be for long. Instead of resting on your laurels, you must commit to being remarkable again quite soon.
